Dr Huakui Liu

Huakui Liu was born in Henan, China in 1991. He completed his undergraduate studies majoring in Chemical Biology at Henan Agricultural University in 2014. After graduating, he moved to Shanghai to pursue his PhD at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry with Professor Yong Tang, where he studied Lewis acid-catalyzed cascade reactions. He received his PhD degree in 2019 and then worked on synthesis of chiral polycyclic indolines and chemical transformations of polyolefins in Professor Yong Tang's lab. In July 2021, he began to work as a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Jonathan Nitschke's group at the University of Cambridge.
